Natural Environments

Beaconsfield Children’s Hub, Panorama Estate is very fortunate to have a natural landscape encompassing our service. A great deal of time and effort was placed in the design and implementation of the children’s garden. The garden is a magical place to discover the world of plants. The children can dig, build, imagine, create, hide…it is a place to come and explore! Children are encouraged to take an active role in caring for the environment and engage in activities where natural and recycled materials are a focus.

Features in our outdoor area are:

  • Digging patches
  • Sandpits for sensory, symbolic and physical play
  • Gardens where children can grow vegetables, fruit and flowers
  • Plants for picking and eating
  • Plants that encourage birds, butterflies and other insects
  • Trees that provide shade
  • Worm Farms and compost areas for environment education
  • Water play areas for sensory play

Exploring the natural environments offers abundant benefits for children:

  • Mental Health
  • Physical Health
  • Screen time Reduction
  • Imagination
  • Stress management
  • Resilience
  • Environment Responsibility

Encouraging children to explore the natural world is essential for their holistic development. These experiences are often related to feelings of freedom, stress relief, wonderment and joy, and are invaluable and immeasurable when thinking about health and wellbeing.
